Dead code always annoys me so much because it sends me on false trails when I search a codebase. I'm glad that it's easy to find and clean it up in Go with the deadcode utility #golang

Just discovered perkins, it's a pixel art editor made in Go that runs in terminal mode: https://github.com/Mr-Robot-err-404/perkins While it's definitely not going to replace aseprite, I gotta say I really like how neat it looks #golang #pixelart

I don't know who implemented this weather algorithm but they need to get their shit together. It was 13C two days ago, now it's 30 This is terribly unrealistic

The gaming landscape for kids is a bit bleak right now. It's like you either convince your parents to fork 500€ for a switch 2 and then 80€ per game, or you end up developping a gambling addiction with Roblox Maybe ubisoft should bring back Rayman. I'm sure that would fix everything

I like chronological timelines a lot more than engagement algos. But I still wish someone would make an algorithm that makes sure I don’t miss posts from people who only post once a month

Got a recruiter email asking me "how many lines of code did you write in your career". Are people really expected to count them nowadays?

A good tip for open source devs: give abstract names to projects. You never really know how people are going to use something 6 months after release

Today I realized that to properly disable password auth on servers you need to modify both `/etc/ssh/sshd_config` AND `/etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/50-cloud-init.conf` otherwise it still stays enabled #cybersecurity #linux

"The error most commonly made by novice investigators of bullshit is to confuse it with simple falsehood. Falsehood, while incorrect, still possesses a relationship, however distorted, to an intended truth. Bullshit, on the other hand, operates in a vacuum entirely of its own devising." - Karl Pumpernickel, On the Refractory Nature of Meaningless Aggregates, 1888 https://www.halupedia.com/bullshit

I finished Ys 8 and I'm glad I managed to get the true end because I was unaware it required a certain amount of reputation for most of the game. Still had to grind the raids quite a bit to make up for the side quests I missed I can't even be mad at the devs for that when we decided to hide the true end of Dice 'n Goblins behind a bunch of easy to miss side content

Cool open-source project I discovered this morning: mvm is an interpreter for #Golang that compiles to bytecode One of its big perks is making debugging easy with a trap() function that stops your program and drops you into an interactive prompt https://github.com/mvm-sh/mvm
