  One thing I don't understand about dems is this: Our team gets a real boner every time Don Whoreleon does something that upsets the right. And then the right whines. Sure, it's fun to point and laugh and say "we told you so." But it's not like they are suddenly going to start voting for level-headed, actually qualified women or minorities. At this point they are codependent. I don't see any chance of them abandoning ship until the Big Beautiful Day.

  I saw a post yesterday with a drought map and the KC area had some color. There is no way we're in any sort of drought. We were over average rainfall in Jan and Feb. Nearly over our March average just 6 days in. It's been low and slow w/ storms in between for nearly week. Deep, soaking rain. Not all at once. I don't think the account that posted it was intentionally being deceptive but it was another reminder to be deeply skeptic of everything. #KCWx #Drought #RainRainGoAway

  Solar update, and more complaining about our investor-owned utility: A few days shy of a calendar month since install, we've cleared another of what must be 69 steps towards being able to actually turn the system on. Now waiting for a post-inspection which could take "up to 21 business days." Then it's another up to 30 days for meter exchange/reprogramming. Because multiple trips is awesome!

  As a human I reserve the right to complain about the weather anytime it deviates from the my very narrow 30-40 degree (f) comfort window. And to be particularly loathesome when the weather is misaligned to my schedule, or whims. That said, after weeks of having bad weather weekends followed by beautiful Mondays I need to acknowledge that the weather yesterday was chef's kiss perfect. First nice Saturday in memory.   Last night the rabbits went to town on our #CrocusLawn. I thought things looked off this morning, but brushed it off. It's been nagging on me all day so I did a screenshot comparison from our security cameras... Nothing less than a massacre. An army of pests creeping in the night doing their dirty deeds. Crocus aren't native. And we Naturalists like to say, if something's not eating your stuff, then it's not part of the ecosystem. But I'm not willing to sacrifice 100% to fee...

  For anyone contemplating the new TurboTax offering of uploading your crap and letting someone else do your taxes, it's not ready for prime time. The experience is super disjointed and prolonged. We got federal plus two states for $150 which is less than it would have been for us to do it ourselves. So, OK it was fine. But if it's more expensive next year than doing it on our own we won't bother. Honestly, we really should stop with Intuit. It's just another evil megacorp that...

  It just dawned on me. Orange man bad’s new tariffs he put on in a SCOTUS reaction hissy fit? They aren’t able to be targeted to the same degree as the ones that got thrown out. So his 10% global tariffs he marked up to 15% a day later apply to FOOD. He had food tariffs last year and TACOd because affordability. #Tariffs
