I’m at my youngest’s school Halloween dance, and there are multiple Thriller-era Michael Jacksons walking around. #Halloween #MichaelJackson

The Badger football team is AP ranked again (at 25). Is this what hope feels like? If they keep playing like this and beat Iowa, they should end the season 10-2, with both losses coming to top 10 teams. #CFB #UWMadison #OnWisconsin #Badgers #Top25

Decided to go on a fucked up animation spree by watching The Wolf House (2018, d. Cristobal León & Joaquín Cociña), Perfect Blue (1997, d. Satoshi Kon), and the short film Alma (2009, d. Rodrigo Blaas). The Wolf House, with its surreal mix of 2D and 3D stop motion, looked cool, but much of it was lost on me since I was unfamiliar with Colonia Dignidad until afterwards. Perfect Blue was a near perfect mindfuck, and Alma filled me with existential dread! #Film #Movies #Cinemastodon #Anima...

RE: https://mastodon.world/@ballpark_frank/117465007968026360 The Wizard of Oz is overrated. There, I said it! M is the best film in that poll btw. #Cinemastodon #Movies #Film #Fantasy

Watched The Endless (2017, d. Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead). I really vibe with these guys’s movies even if I think the resolution to this one was a bit too on the nose. Two brothers visit their former “UFO-cult” home 10 years after leaving (and failing to thrive in the outside world). Creepy, weird, mind bending, and darkly funny, just how I like my horror and sci-fi. Make sure to watch their first film Resolution before you start this one. #Film #Movies #Cinemastodon #Horror #SciFi

In general, I'm very happy with my social media niche on the Fediverse, and I think dice.camp is one of the best online TTRPG communities, but I can't help but wonder what it would be like if more folks who joined stuck around, especially those who decamped to BS. The software has improved (and continues to improve), the community gets better, we don't have to worry about enshittification, or being sold out by a corporation, etc. I'd love if more people would return and give it a...

Three kernels of ideas for TTRPGs 1. A knight fallen to Chaos has sworn to fell a sacred golden tree located deep in a primeval forest; journey into the woods to protect the tree! 2. Your neighbor's plan to train the local crows to do his bidding has spun out of control! 3. The Dreamlands are desperate, as the dreams of the mortal world turn to nightmare. The denizen of dreams must crossover to help humans find peace and a good night's sleep! #3Kernels #TTRPG

Just finished the 100 minute long Spring concert at my children’s school. Our music teacher is very ambitious, which means the concerts are long, intricate, and chaotic, but I love them. When 4th grade broke into Pink Floyd (complete with a low tech light show courtesy of lots of glow sticks), I felt like I should have sparked a jay out of principle!

RE: https://mastodon.social/@donni/116548436698096327 As someone with a history degree, I'm well aware that crazy shit has happened continuously throughout human existence, but what my degree didn't prepare me for was for how exhausting living through all of it truly is.
