  I get why people would say something like 2001: A Space Odyssey is boring, it's a bit slow and on the artistic side.   Watched The Black Hole (1979) I would say 3/4 of it is actually really good and interesting. Certain aspects of it do really not hold up, but overall it's enjoyable. Even when the dialogue is "cheesy", it's still more well written than most modern stuff. Not very subtly references Christianity as well. It's insane it came out the same year as Alien.
