Kids getting their #Eid presents from Sam Pound Plus this year. Actually there's a shop in #Dalston selling housewares and tat. It's just opposite the Dixy's and near the bus stop towards Stamford Hill. I got the water games (non licenced sanrio tat) and the London acrylic block for a quid from there; the tape measures and (licensed) Hello Kitty stationery from Sam; and the squishmallow was like a quid in the Sense charity shop up Bruce Grove. There was a bunch of them i...

  >"If this happened, nobody would invest in the UK," one of the sources told Reuters. >"If you want food price inflation to decline, you need to start looking at the cost of regulation on ‌business," they added, going on to highlight the government's moves to raise employer taxes, the national minimum wage, introduce new packaging levies and propose the reformulation of thousands of ‌food lines. ---- https://news.sky.com/story/supermarke...

I used to like #NerdECrafter, she was part of my Friday dinnertime routine. Moriah and then her. She took a lot of iffy sponsors (she's still taking sponsorships from #BetterHelp), and the final straw for me was her shilling for #Temu and going into the promotion of overconsumption. And now she's just outright stealing thumbnails from #MiaMaples?? I don't think this was a collab as the Mia video is 9 months older and I didn't see any mention of Mia in the descrip...

I'm drafting a letter to my MP and the housing minister. Whose name I had never heard of until today. Not that either of them will give a damn.

TIL that in 2001, my old tripod.com site was hacked. I was looking up my old site, because I was trying to remember an old #freeware #DOS game that I used to play that never got past the demo stage. And after I looked up my site on the #WaybackMachine, this popup came up. And while I wasn't above putting joke popups, this is not my style at all. I took my site very seriously! I must have had a third party hit counter or something that was compromised. The 2004 capture doesn'...

Whenever I use silicone moulds to make chocolate, I start to get this powdery residue after washing. I've tried soaking them in boiling soapy water, I've given them a good scrub with the sponge, but it remains. I've seen one post online saying it might be cocoa butter? But I can't find anything definitive. Does anyone know what it is and if it's harmful? It only appears after I've made chocolate in it a few times. If it makes a difference, I used...

I usually make my own pizza from scratch, but there are reasons why I prefer to spend as little time in the kitchen as possible these days. So I've been relying on Lidl's frozen vegan #pizza when they have it in. Anyway, my supply has run out. Napolina used to sell plain pizza bases, but I couldn't find any. I had to make do with these flatbreads as a pizza base. They're plant based and contain extra pea and wheat protein. Yes, I use tomato puree as the sauce,...

@JorisBohnsonPM tangential, but relevant. "Long before four of the largest faces on Earth were dynamited into the granite edifice of Mount Rushmore, the #Lakota #Sioux saw a different set of portraits: The mountain was known as Tȟuŋkášila Šákpe (the Six Grandfathers)." #indigenousamericans #whitewashinghistory #mountrushmore #ushistory #sixgrandfathers

Comment section from: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LYCJ9pvQJhA YouTube makes it difficult to copypaste long comments, so please refer to the original video if you're unable to read the screenshots. I am trying the pause method, but I think the only reason it's been working is because I'm in a slump and just less inclined to talk in general. Oversharing is a big problem for me, and I have the issues these commenters talk about. I really wish I knew how to control it al...
