Plot twist! Silent Ransom Group agreed to be interviewed about the Luna Moth Files. And the first thing they told me is, "We are open to do an interview, however, SRG was never leaked. We have never been hacked or had a data breach. We have come across false articles claiming that we were hacked and that our chat logs were published." I'll have a fuller write-up later, but this was not what I was expecting when I prepared interview questions. 🤔 #databreach #SilentRansomGroup #...

The FBI has arrested a third person allegedly linked to ShinyHunters -- this time, it's a Canadian in Pennsylvania who was allegedly involved in the FBI Jobs incident. If you're keeping score, that's three arrests since September, two of which are allegedly linked to the FBI Jobs incident. The third arrest occurred before that attack. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/fbi-shinyhunters-arrest-jobs-website-hack/?ftag=CNM-00-10aab7e&linkId=1018860676 https://www.nytimes.com/2026/...

RE: https://infosec.exchange/@PogoWasRight/117412318085250446 The man has been identified by @briankrebs as Edward Dubrovsky (court filings name him as Edward Dobrovsky). He was the founder of Cypfer and now is with CyberSteward. He was the author of a book, Cyber Extortion Strategic Response, that was just published a few weeks ago. The docket in his case is not yet public, but the case was moved to the Eastern District of Texas after his arrest in Pennsylvania. As I speculated el...

AFP is reporting a cyberattack that resulted in refrigeration and freezer systems of major supermarket chains in France all defrosting and in some cases, causing fires. RE: https://infosec.exchange/@douglevin/117488147893643667 I would like to know which court has ordered Navigate360 to reveal information. They have been so terrible in incident response that a court had to order them to disclose essential info to its clients and those affected? And while they have been the epitome of inadequate security and poor incident response, Crime Stoppers has been no better. They blew off my questions by saying the incident was mostly in their rear view mirror, but did...

NEW by me: ShinyHunters escalates dispute with FBI; claims to have seized job applicants' site and acquired data First, they threatened Clop this week, and now the FBI. I'm always curious to see what cyber insurers are doing on coverage for different scenarios. The Revolut incident reportedly has some insurers re-thinking. Matthew Sellers reports: "Most social engineering endorsements are triggered by a transfer of funds, not a transfer of data. A scam where nothing is paid out but a large volume of identity and biometric data leaves the building can fall between a crime policy, built for financial loss, and a data breach policy, often built around u...
