@GhostOnTheHalfShell I think it definitely shaped public opinion in the Obama years. It seems as though half the general public are populists and the Magas definitely controlled the social media spin by tapping into the male angst with podcasters. Trump was always going to have his base but we need to contol the social media narrative to get these people back. Maybe they need to feel the burn first.

@MikeImBack I was an insurance broker in California for 30 years. I left in 2020 because I could no longer write policies and everytime I called a client it was to tell them their rates doubled, tripled or I had to write state insurance. Climate change is the biggest threat. Insurance companies are unregulated by most states, those that are just pull out of the market. It's a huge problem.

@knittingknots2@mstdn.social Guess that didn't work out well for him since Gaetz withdrew. He's getting a little too high on his horse. Apparently he's so high he's already in Mars.

@_elena @stefan I have been reading this comments on this thread and I jump between both platforms. At this point, I really don't care who sees if I block them. Honestly, most of them are horrible. Mastodon to me, is a calm space and yes, Bluesky is a bit overwhelming and I was never on Twitter.
