We went from attending a charity quiz night (friends charity), to maybe helping with the set up and finally promoted to collecting and tallying up quiz results when the quiz master pulled out on the morning of the quiz. Slightly chaotic night and oops results were wrong.

Racing is one of the few things I actively dislike about Melbourne. I wish we could shut it down. Seeing people dress up to go and see whipping for money makes me feel sick. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-10-18/caulfield-cup-ohope-wins-death-calls-accountability/107280556?utm_source=abc_news_app&utm_medium=content_shared&utm_campaign=abc_news_app&utm_content=other

So I have lost my book at a dahlia sale. At least I didn't lose my knitting. Clearly I had high expectations.

Walking Lucy earlier and a car slowly pulled up next to us, started winding the window down. Ok a bit weird but middle of the day, suburban street... Window fully down I can see a guy grinning at me: "You've got a westie! As he says this, a familiar white furry head with pointed years pops up next to his from the back seat 🤣. He says hello to Lucy and drives off and interactions like this give me hope for humanity (very short-lived but still).
