  @ChrisJagged@mastodon.social so there are two characters who are rightful heirs of sorts. One works as a guard (police) and won't take the throne. The other takes a throne but keeps trying to make the locals do democracy. I think you might enjoy them. The guards series would be a good start 🙂 In both, Pratchett plays with the whole returning rightful heir myth.

  God I hate family trips. I dislike one of my half siblings, am bored by the other. The codependency in the family is grim and I hate having to manage emotions the whole time
