I didn’t take any overhead in account, just checked that the site itself was a bit under 2kB worth of data. 1 gigabit / 2 kilobytes = 62500, so in order to consume 1Gbps you’ll need about that 62k visitors every second. Handshake is few hundred bits and other overhead is pretty neglible, but those are still not zero so I just rounded it down for a rough ballpark number.

Modern filesystems can corrupt as well with unclean shutdown. They are just less likely to do so. My server stores photos of our life over couple of decades with other nearly irreplaceable data so having the UPS and clean shutdown on power loss gives at least some confidence that the files stay where they are. Of course I also run backups of the data, but it’s another layer on data safety setup.

Not surprising at all. Every worker everywhere does this if they have some sort of 'tokens' they need to consume. Helpdesk ticket count is one pretty common with IT-folks and it's easy enough to boost if you just write one from every single small thing you've done for the day. None of these obviously are beneficial for the actual work getting done, but as the game is 'make KPI numbers look good' then that's exactly what gets done.

Damn right. I paid for the device, it's mine and I can use it solely to take pictures of my bare ass should I choose so. There's of course, and for a reason, limitations on how I can use those pictures, but those apply to any device capable of taking a photo of anything. But I can still use pictures of my ass as a wallpaper in my own home if I want to.
