We must never kid ourselves that our desire to choose our own path in Scotland, one in which looking after those in society most in need of assistance features highly, and that is distinct from that set by powerful people in London, will ever get fair coverage in the billionaire-owned press. #Scotland #Socialism

Yet another example of massive bias against Scotland and our governing party, this from the Murdoch-owned Times. An outrageous headline. Are hospitals in England called Labour or Tory hospitals? Sorry to harp on about this, and I suspect many who don't live in Scotland might have little interest, but I feel it is necessary to highlight the bias which often borders on hatred for everything that goes on in my country, and which we see each and every day. #pressbias #Scotland

I didn't watch the Argentina-England game. In fact, I forgot it was on. I was driving home from the wildfire in Glenmore. It was very pleasant to hear the result. Away from football, such a shame for all the wildlife destroyed in the fire. I was up a nearby hill and watched as the fire started and headed for home. Had to run past the fire where it was nearest the path. The heat was intense. Later, we were evacuated from the campsite. #wildfires #Scotland

Donald Trump: "Since I became president of the USA, we are no longer the laughing stock of the world. We are respected again." The Belgian football team:: Hold our beers. We'll do the Trump jerk off dance to celebrate a goal at the World Cup. 😂 😂

There are moves put forward in the UK to ban social media for the under-16s. This is to protect their mental health. Yet strangely, I see no similar proposals to ban far-right 'news' providers. Seems to me that such a ban would protect the mental health of a much wider demographic.

I love this quote. It highlights the absurdity at the heart of our society. Under capitalism, it's very normal to let children go hungry, let banks force people out of their homes, let sick people die for lack of access to healthcare. But the idea that billionaires could just be less rich, not poor, not struggling, just less rich, is considered insane. #Socialism #Capitalism #WealthInequality

Love this idea of what's coming down the corridor. REPLACING STARMER WITH BURNHAM IS LIKE BEING A KID IN HOSPITAL IN THE 70°S AND BEING TOLD THE JIMMY SAVILLE VISIT HAS BEEN CANCELLED ONLY TO HEAR THE SOUND OF A DIDGERIDOO COMING DOWN THE CORRIDOR.

In Wes Streeting's resignation letter, he says, "For the first time in our country's history, nationalists are in power in every corner of the United Kingdom - including a dangerous English nationalism represented by Nigel Farage and Reform UK." To equate Plaid Cymru, Sinn Féin, and the SNP with Reform shows how little the Labour Government understands the public mood. #UKpolitics #SNP #Plaid_Cymru #sinnfein

A post which perfectly sums up the absurdity surrounding the future of the union. Heads in the sand? "Just listening to the BBC explaining that Scotland couldn't have independence because Westminster wouldn't allow it - as if that was a perfectly acceptable democratic system. They say it is a voluntary union but the refusal to discuss the future of the UK seems remarkable." #Scotland

The people of Scotland have elected a huge majority in favour of Scottish independence. There is a growing movement across these islands that what we have isn't good enough. In Wales, Plaid Cymru is the biggest party, and in Northern Ireland, Sinn Féin is the largest Irish nationalist party. Change is coming to these islands, even if the richest and most powerful don't like it. Now is the time to join us. https://www.yes.scot/signup/

Things no politician ever says - I made a mistake. My plan was poorly conceived/plain wrong/went bad, and I take full responsibility. Good news isn't always because of me. I apologise for my mistakes (unless dragged out of them like blood from a stone and they imagine it will save their neck).

BBC Scotland doesn't hide its contempt for their charter, which defines the legal basis and guidelines under which the BBC should operate. They seem to find it very hard to hide their hatred for all of us who think London rule is not the be-all and end-all. #BBCBias #Scotland

Why do we allow bribes for politicians? Whether from foreign governments, big business, or oligarchs, they are all splashing the cash through direct donations, funding for trips and other perks and lucrative, non-parliamentary roles. I just cannot see why this in any way benefits our democracy. Maybe I am naive. #Corruption #UKPolitics

As I read this story, I wondered about this malignant tumour from a different perspective. The press interviewed Netanyahu. I might have been tempted to interview the lump and ask for its reaction now that the malignant Netanyahu had been cut away... #Netanyahu

It seems to be a sad truth, but depending on who you are, where you come from, your religion or the colour of your skin, is likely to determine whether people such as the UK Prime Minister and the press pay any attention to you. Here is a handy wee list I prepared to help out. Jewish victims of stabbings in London - worth attention. Muslim victims of the same stabbing - not worth attention. People of Israel - worth attention. People of Palestine - not worth attention.

This photograph just won the award for "Excellence in Presidential News Coverage by Visual Journalists". By Andrew Harnik of @GettyImages It is a fascinating insight into the mind of Donald Trump, standing there strangely bereft of emotion and awkward as a visitor collapses and others rush to his aid. Has Harnik captured a perfect image showing Trump's dementia? #Trump #Dementia

Why is the standard idea in politics the daft one that every success is down to wise and careful choices made by those in charge and every failure is the fault of others? Why do they expect anyone to swallow such nonsense?

I hear that Donald Trump thinks he could easily become an astronaut. I think we should support his ambition to go into space. Send him along with Elon Musk, Putin, Netanyahu, other billionaires, middle management, TV producers, telesales people, personnel officers, traffic wardens, public relations executives, reality TV stars, and all the other useless members of society. Build a Golgafrinchan Ark Fleet Ship (if you know you know). #HitchhikersGuide #Trump #Musk

Donald Trump has been accused of rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment consistently since the 70s. He walked into the dressing rooms while Miss Teen USA and Miss USA contestants were changing and in states of undress. He made sexualized, inappropriate, and creepy comments about his own daughter, Ivanka. There are persistent claims of abuse. The Epstein files won't go away. There is an old saying: "No smoke without fire." Is Donald Trump a Paedophile? Make up your own minds....

"Mass illegal migration is pushing Glasgow to breaking point and anarchy" A statement from Reform in Scotland and published in full by the Herald in Glasgow (it used to be called the Glasgow Herald). We need to be so careful in pushing the views of the far right. I read that quote and thought how recognisable it would be to the people of Germany in the 1930s. The press has to decide which side of history they want to be on. Authoritarianism doesn’t seize power overnight, it creeps in....

@Endof10 It really annoys me when tech firms drop support for existing products no doubt hoping we'll all upgrade our perfectly serviceable desktops and laptops. There were huge marches today against war, genocide, fascism and for Scottish independence. The usual powers that be, including their lackeys in the press, will no doubt play these events down, but is the writing on the wall?

@ShredderLivesOn I think it is very interesting polling. If SNP is projected to win no list votes, and assuming polling is correct, then who should SNP supporters give their second vote to? For me, a vote for Scottish parties is a must, and we must show the World that Scotland is way, way better than Reform.
