  We've had a power cut does to the high wind gusts today. It also must have messed up our nearby transmission mast, as we've also not had mobile signal for 6hrs. We had to cook food on a tiny gas cannister and do toast over the fire. I'm not going to post again until power is restored though. I should save my phone battery. If you're getting anything from this week's named storm, #StaySafe out there.

  Trying to use a focus timer to keep me off my phone when I should be doing other things. I'm shattered now, but did focus on one thing for 2 hours, even on my PC. I really struggle with attention span, so any incentive is worth trying.

  Sorry to anyone on Dark Mode. Myself included. I may submit a request to #CatsStudy. But, on the plus side, I've been purposefully /not/ using my phone, too help me focus on other things. It means I miss things online, but putting that time into focused family time and writing with minimal digital noise is worth it. #focus #screentime #android

  Well, I didn't get long in #FFXIV, but I'm on the L15 "Envoy" questline. So I'm learning some crafts in Limsa, and will pick up a couple in Gridania when I move onto there. And I'm starting to like my new Miqo'te. Just need to earn coin to get (from NPCs) or make better outfit items. It's weird not having Marketboard access, but at least I don't get choice overwhelm.   Another year. Level 43 now, but like some games, levelling up doesn't always mean making progress. But /unlike/ games, I don't get stronger with each new level and my gear certainly doesn't get better. But I played a cooperative table game with just wifey and NJ tonight, and ate loads of chocolate. So that's good.

  Well, I've drafted 470 words of an experimental "small world" story. It takes place in my not-small world, but the plot covers a small area, and is largely based around one establishment in one of the smallest woods on my world map. I've also adopted a lighter writing style for it. I'll have to see how it fares during editing a few weeks down the line. 🤔 #writing #writingcommunity #amwriting #fantasy

  Had a couple of hours with wifey watching series one of Good Omens (for the second time). We needed to refresh our minds on what went before this year's ending movie. NJ went to sleep by midnight (she still has a couple of weeks left of the summer break) so we could watch the last couple of episodes. Snatches of shared escapism matter. Recently, various friends and contacts have had relationship breakdowns. Prioritising communication and time together matters.

  If you have any contacts who use #Instagram - do tell them they have to opt out of they don't want ***everyone on Instagram*** to be able to use AI to make images from their uploaded photos...   I kinda wish you could refine "followed hashtags" on #Mastodon. Like, I want to have a feed of #FFXIV but excluding NSFW ones. I have the content/picture filter on, but I swear sometimes I'm scrolling past more blanked out screenshots and gross content warning titles to find clean posts. I ought to be grateful people use the content warnings. But I'd prefer to create a "clean feed" to be honest. Any tools/platforms or tricks out there to achieve that?

  Hey folks, This week's attempts to pull my sleep time back have flopped. The two days I managed around 2am, and woke up earlier, I also had really high pain and low energy. So I got no more done, nor did I feel any better from the earlier days. I haven't given up, and 2 days isn't a trend. But there's no point going to bed in tons of pain either.   On a functional question... Can anyone who uses @Vivaldi on an #Android device tell me how I can close *and reopen* tab groups? I feel I'm being dense. Firefox forks save "tab groups" as "Collections" of bookmarks, which is a close enough for now.   Hey, So my pain levels are ridiculous at the moment, and I'm finding life in general very difficult. So I've not had much PC time, nor felt up to social media. But here's my current #drawing #WIP.
