A small end-of-year reflection: in my experience, the three main things we look for when playing #TTRPG are Immersion (feeling like you are a character in a story), Storytelling (collectively telling a captivating story), and Challenge (finding a solution to a puzzle/problem you are faced with as a player). A dozen sessions into my first #avatarlegends #ttrpg campaign, it is quickly becoming my favourite #pbta game. Interestingly, the really succeeds in making those players who are usually a bit less narratively oriented in other games take a more narrative approach and really play their character; on the other hand, the players who were already playing more “narrative first” in other games seem to feel a bit constrained by the system. All in all, though, we are all enjoying it a lot.
