Seasonable Monday afternoon in the yard. I placed a small pile of peanuts on a chair to see what transpired. A California Scrub-Jay judiciously picked up, weighed, dropped, picked up again, then distributed each throughout the yard. Mostly buried in leaf litter under oaks and dense shrubbery. One was buried amongst some Irises and another in leaves in between some potted Geraniums. Closest cache point was about five feet away, the farthest was approximately 150 feet away. #Birds #Birding
