Don't forget that tomorrow marks the end of #BritishSummertime, which means that the clocks go back one hour and your cats don't, so good luck sleeping in past their breakfast time.

Weird coincidence. I was thinking about this film earlier today, considering a terrible pun about titling it Star Copse. Niche. https://wandering.shop/@susankayequinn/117499206714855200

BBC Archive: “1968: The Super Cities of Tomorrow | Towards Tomorrow” https://youtu.be/za60PkAxyG0 “London isn’t a city, any more than Stoke-on-Trent is” — As someone from Stoke-on-Trent I reckon that must *really* sting if you’re a Londoner. Reyner Banham (who later wrote the excellent book Megastructure) puts in an appearance, defying death on his Moulton bicycle as well as discussing the subject at hand.

The ukulele isn't only the sound of Hawai'i and vaudeville, it's also behind some of the greatest expressions of culture and art from the hundred years or more. And then there's this. I've posted a song sheet for this number before, but I was transposing it to C and thought I may as well throw this version out there as well. "Doc" Cox, AKA Ivor Biggun, made it to number 22 in the UK charts in 1978 with his uke-driven single "Th...

Here’s another reason I would rather do my own research than fob it off on whatever they’re referring to as AI this week: finding unexpected and deeply intriguing mentions of something else entirely, such as the attached snippet from Wikipedia. I don’t mind getting sidetracked, it often leads to a more interesting destination and I get to learn things along the way. #MidWesternRuralJazz

There’s been very little happening in the world of Fudge RPG publishing lately, but recent a couple of products have appeared! They’re in Spanish, which unfortunately I do not read, but if you do then here’s a link to “Acero Y Brujería” (“Steel and Witchcraft,” the machine translation informs me). Always nice to see something new for Fudge, even if I can’t directly enjoy it myself. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/573246/acero-y-brujeria-un-juego-de-fantasia-oscura-para-fudge-basico-mode...

Honestly, it's a little crazy how difficult I have found it to make a playable (to me) version of this song. Most ukulele chord sheets for it leave out the introductory verse, but trying to piece together a full version from someone else's chorus with my attempts at writing up the verse has been quite a struggle. I *think* I might have got there at last. Even so, this won't be anything like the way that Cliff Edwards played it: he tended to use what would be chord shapes from the ke...
