A notoriously stubborn agricultural waste product, rice husk is now being repurposed as a sturdy and resilient construction material. The US produces millions of tonnes of rice waste each year. Now people are building homes with it https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20261009-the-houses-made-from-rice-husks

IMO What really pisses people off the most is National Politicians (predominately. ACT a close second) continuously telling them they aren't productive enough. "We aren't productive enough" is apparently the main reason we are struggling to buy food, pay mortgages, rent,fuel.... People across Aotearoa New Zealand are working their arses off to keep afloat, but continuously being told their productivity is at fault. Nurses Doctors Small Business Owners Truckies...

Of course Luxon won't phone Qiulae Wong. Qiulae Wong will phone him. That's the worse case scenario on Nov 8th for NZ. The best case scenario is neither of them have any need to. #nzpol

Just in case we have other things to consider at the moment, we shouldn't forget this little fact. Local Government Amalgamation is on the back burner, not off any table, until after the election. #NZPol https://andrewdicksonnz.substack.com/p/yokelism-luxons-politburo-comes-for?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=ygikv

As one of 28 New Zealand accommodation providers to receive a Michelin Key, Paardekooper said industrial developments would put employment, tourism and that status at risk. "It's not just vacant land waiting to be developed. It's open space, it's natural quiet, it's dark skies, it's mountain and lake views... Going to have a jamb with a friend today. We've been talking about doing something for two years! So packing in my old guitar, harps and a pile of songs on paper and soft fingers through lack of fretting anything and a couple of beers (to lubricate my vocals of course) and enthusiasm and my hat! This could be a lot of fun!

NZ is good at training medical professionals but not good at retaining them. So we rely on overseas trained doctors especially to fill the need. My home town is attracting some top line professionals for our health services. It's a nice place to live. #healthcare #doctors #MedicalProfessionals #Timaru When the small South Island town of Timaru and its cluster of US doctors hit the front page of the Wall Street Journal last week, it highlighted New Zealand's dependence on o...

Had a video call with my daughter today. About 5 mins in, a message appeared on my phone that her phone battery was low and we may lose contact soon. So what else is WhatsApp siphoning from her and probably both our phones, while in a call. Am I worrying about nothing out of the ordinary/ shouldn't be concerned/ it's all encrypted/ just the way it works boyo, here?

Nats change their mind like the weather. But it is the weather after all being the subject matter to funding a bloody LNG terminal that no one wants. Nicola has a billion dollar contingency pot that might just be the ticket they decide on. ( Auckland volcanoes are on hold for another year) November 7th is a big day for NZ. We actually get a say. #NZPol #VoteThemOut #justvote
