  Salvaged strawberry plants, I found these plants in a rotted trough, which had almost completely fallen apart. Even if they do not survive being moved we'll have lost nothing, but hopefully these Cambridge Favourite plants will give us some mice desert strawberries during the summer #GrowYourOwn #allotment

  #enshittification I've been looking into buying a new #SatNav. Many of them offer live traffic, a vital feature for a truck driver, here though, is my problem, all those I have looked at so far, require a phone app, and a Bluetooth link to the phone to provide the traffic info. This requirement has recently been added to my current unit, which is why I started looking for a new one. Until a few weeks ago, I got perfectly good routing around traffic hold ups without a phone connection... N...

  We've just had a brief #PowerOutage at home. When the power came back on, it took a while for the modem to reconnect, during the process my husband said, " without that little box, our lives are pointless." It took a while for me to stop laughing.

  It's #InvasiveSpecies day at the #allotment. 1st and more easily dealt with is the Spanish Bluebell, which I figure I can just dig up, and replace with the native variety. 2nd is Marsh Horsetail, this is a nasty piece of work, it is everywhere I look. So, is there a way to eradicate it that is A) inexpensive, and B) doesn't involve fighting a battle that will last the rest of my life? #gardening

  A cold windy day up at the main #allotment but we still got a lot of preparation done, and weeded the whole Fruit Zone. After 4 hours in a biting wind, we returned home to a cup of hot Bovril. #GYO #GrowYourOwn

  True AI could be used in so many ways to make things better for everyone. Instead a weak version is thrown into every software imaginable to generate woeful imagery, and poor articles. So sad.

  Lovely warm day on the #alottment, didn't do as much as I wanted, but made visible progress, so calling it a win. Lots of bees enjoying the spring flowers, I hope they're will hungry when the fruit trees blossom.

  Meanwhile, up at the 'big' #allotment, crocus are flowering,, while the daffodils and tulips are in the green. And I've created a pond, since this photo was taken I've added an escape route for anyone falling in. Plants will be added next week, when I hope to get it finished. #Allotment #Wildlife #Pond

  Meanwhile on #Mastodon I have just over 100 followers, roughly a third of the number I had on Twitter before I left, however, the quality of the interaction I have here is orders of magnitude better. Why anyone thinks staying on X because "I have loads of followers" is a justification is just plain wrong.

  @yvan@toot.ale.gd This is the tree, it clearly crops well, as the ground is littered with last year's fruit, the guy on the next plot over, said he took quite a lot before Christmas (while the plot was intended.) The plot was untended for a few years, so all the fruiting plants need a lot of care.
