I always thought this track was called Tricky Dickie ... but he does sing "you ask Joyce and Vicky, if I ever shaped up tricky" so I think it counts 😁 Ian Dury - Billericay Dickie #jukeboxfridaynight #tricksortreats https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=0gQuhh0TLRc&si=GhKb1cD3RXWsT9Lg

I offer up this Yew tree at Tarrington church for #ThickTrunkTuesday and #TextureTuesday 😊 At a mere 4.64m girth, it's only considered a 'notable tree' on the Woodland Trust database, but I was struck by its trunk of rippling muscle texture. #nature #treesofmastodon Also, an excuse to boost my most recent piece of writing, which is about trees but not really, and involves the search for a tree that no longer exists! From this angle it doesn't look very high but in reality that solitary tree in the middle of the shot stands on a steep ridge commanding amazing views towards the Shropshire hills in the north, the Black Mountains to the south west, and the Malvern Hills to the south east. I love to sit up there ... when my poor knees can cope with the climb (or more to the point, the descent!) #SilentSunday #ukcountryside #landscapephotography #borderlands #trees

Here's another #personalplaylist track for #JukeboxFridayNight... The Selector was the first live gig I went to after getting clean and sober ... This is a beautiful song about our interconnectedness. My mum used to sing it to me when I was a young child. When she suffered a brain injury in 2019 and was lost from us for a while in her broken mind, I would sing it to her as one of many ways to try and reach her 💔 Woody Guthrie - Ship in the Sky For #PersonalPlaylist #JukeboxFridayNight

#PersonalPlaylist — songs with personal signficance? Oh fuck, I could be here all day 😅 Here's a good start ... I was 12 years old when The Smiths first appeared on TOTP and, living in a small rural village wondering why I felt like such a lonely misfit, I think it saved my life 💜 #JukeboxFridayNight https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=_2s9ke-pKWw&si=oxXxnV53fEfHZ0sb

On a more cheerful note from the #history I've been sharing for #JukeboxFridayNight here's a pic for #FootpathFriday from my recent clifftop camp in Cornwall (which, for me, has its own history, as I've been coming here - St Agnes/Porthtowan - since I was a nipper!)

There's a number of songs about the New Age Traveller #history of the (misnamed) Battle of the Beanfield (it was an ambush, not a battle), including Poison Girls - Stonehenge and The Levellers - Battle of the Beanfield I've chosen Ian Dury's 'Itinerant Child' for this week's #JukeboxFridayNight mainly because this link has some accompanying video footage of the event. It still brings tears to my eyes (and I wasn't even there ... but these are my people) https://...

Anyone know what bird this feather comes from? I'm having trouble identifying it. It's about 15cm long, found on open farmland, next to a river, in UK West Midlands #askfedi #nature #ukcountryside
