@Tatsumeg@sakurajima.moe Since you’re already this far out, I’d say start with the 2026 anime. Then go back to the Oshii movies, SAC and Arise in chronological order. You’ll have a more interesting experience than other anime-onlies, and be able to experience the rollout the manga readers of the time did, instead.

@cthellis@urusai.social @Tatsumeg@sakurajima.moe Yeah, if someone brand new is going to watch anytime soon starting with 2026 before going Oshii -> Kamiyama -> Ubakata makes the most sense since so many of the anime interpretations have similar takes on recurring characters, with the manga and 2026 anime being outliers. Easier to follow the historical change in depictions than bouncing back and forth.
