@freakonometrics@mastodon.social On one hand, I agree with his message that compassion represents progress on the evolutionary chain. On the other hand, from what I've seen, it is difficult for people to have true compassion when they cannot empathize because they have no comparable experience to what someone else is suffering, and thus cannot comprehend it. Hence, too many privileged people among the governing classes making out-of-touch laws.
