@ck0@tech.lgbt @xoron@infosec.exchange Not sure if tagging/labelling something as #OpenSource while it’s only partially open is a good practice and probably doesn’t help to build trust. If we do go this way then maybe we need to introduce new acronym? If #FOSS is standing for Free Open Source Software we perhaps should add #FFOSS -> a Free Fully Open Source Software? ;)

@t0maz@floss.social i started off aming for fully open source. i think it demonstrates a fairly unique idea that might be interesting for some. id like to be able to share it as fully open source so i think its the appropriate hashtags. https://github.com/positive-intentions/chat feel free to reach out for clarity on the details.

  • @t0maz@floss.social @ck0@tech.lgbt @xoron@infosec.exchange I don’t think this is a major issue; it’s just like BitLoden’s client-side and server-side source code being open, we all know that this open-source version is a substandard product, with slight discrepancies from the officially deployed version, yet we still classify it as ‘open source’ rather than ‘partially open source’. ‘Open source’ is a broad term, whilst ‘semi-open source’ and ‘fully open source’ are more detailed classifications.
