Quirky and high-quality hand-selected music collections I've found on soulseek recently. Actual human beings, some individually, some in organized groups, put these together to serve their own human purposes in defiance of the laws that would prevent us from organizing and preserving our own culture. There are dozens of collections like this floating around. These are just three of the most surprising and delightful. * More than 10K Child ballad covers organized by number. * More than 12K files from Woodstock organized as best as anyone can tell in chronological order. * An uncounted number of recordings -- at least 20K -- of shape note singing along with PDFs of an incredible number of books of shape note songs, history, and methods. This includes recordings of singing at people's weddings, funerals, etc. Both the music and the self-organized defiance of the law are absolutely beautiful!
