Done any research yet to see if anyone has done a project around it? Is it a working unit or ready for sacrifice on the altar of retro-modernism? ;)
I think I saw the Model 100-esque project as well, but would love a link some time if you have it around.

@halfpress@mastodon.social It is, as far as I know, a working unit still, which makes the prospect of gutting it less desirable. People have done it, usually an Raspberry Pi based system. Another option would be a dedicated writerdeck. Freewrite makes really cool ones with a bit of steampunk flair but they're hideously expensive. I resurrected an Alphasmart Dana as a writerdeck a couple of years ago and got it working with the Mac after a fashion, but found the display size too limiting.
