An interesting detail on how election officials were preparing contingency plans:
Many election officials can now hit pause on the contingency plans they had been crafting in case the court ruling went differently, said Tricia Webber, president of the California Association of Clerks and Election Officials. In Santa Cruz County, where Webber is the clerk and registrar, officials considered delivering ballots to neighborhood hubs like libraries and county offices if they were not able to send them by mail. They also considered using a “vote mobile” trailer that could travel into communities to serve as extra voting locations.
Those plans can go on the back burner now, Webber said, though she does not intend to abandon them entirely: “You still want to keep all your contingencies available because you just never know what tomorrow will bring.”
