Good idea: Run your own personal cloud https://cloudinabottle.org Most of the software we use every day runs on someone else's computer. Cloud in a Bottle is an open source project that lets you run your own cloud server with one click app installs, just like a smartphone. It works on an old laptop, a cheap rented server, or a managed instance starting at $5 a month. The catalog already includes file storage, a password manager, media streaming, a private search engine, and more. Every app runs in its own security sandbox and all your data stays yours with no lock in. It's early days but the whole thing is open source and actively developed. #selfhosted #OpenSource #Privacy #Technology #DigitalFreedom #foss
