My huge review of Against the Current. Huge because I wrote a lot and also because I am doing something a little controversial: Tackling a well-known CDrama reviewer's criticisms about the drama. :P

Lovely review @liztai@hachyderm.io! And I agree with your concern when a popular and influential reviewer takes a strong “don’t watch it” stance, judgemental on values points, without having watched a large part of the episodes. On the ending, my personal take is that it showed that despite a long marriage and personal growth, the ML still was tempted to try to determine their future together unilaterally, even if it meant bargaining with a deity — while her reaction was of the “Wait! What?!!” variety. The core drivers of who they both were remained essentially unchanged — and that’s ok. Both became better versions of themselves in marriage. #cDrama
