@tao@mathstodon.xyz I don’t intend to say I know better.I feel that saying math has specific purpose. That AI does not aligning and would harm those purposes is not true. I would argue that finding answers to questions is the main purpose of mathematics. And I agree that understanding is of great value, but AI can help with that as well. Explaining concepts, writing books and even teaching. These things are not something we are loosing only because we aren’t the ones coming with the the answers.
