Continuation of this rework today, freehand tree to cover the odd lotus-esque sigil and somewhat messy handpoked roots I’d done a very long time ago. The root mass is full of eyes, which will be made clearer and highlighted with some white next time, and the tree itself is now healed but still too shiny to keep working on but will be shaded heavier next time. And then it will be done! For someone else I could have knocked this out all at once, but I value my spine and so I’ve been taking this in two hour chunks for now. #TattooArtist #Tattoo #Sigil #Animist #Witch #Witchy

I also did this powerful piece out of the Grimoire for Starlight’s Underworld project. “Thee Sun is Thee King of Thee Stars, So full of Light” is the quote from Agrippa’s “three books” that goes along with the illustration I used as a basis for this piece. However, we changed a few things. This man is fallen: so devoted to his Solar aspect, his own projection, that he instead became controlled by impulses that were not alone his, that were not sustainable, consuming of his very being. This piece is really different. It’s twisted, disproportionate, far from realism, and far from clean, nice woodblock styling. The reference is drawn this way, and we took it further than that. But I really love how it came to life like it’s own little entity, imperfect as all living things are.
