It all returns to diesel. Kiev is attacking Russian gas while Iran is restricting flow through the strait of Hormuz, leading supply to get lower and lower. The US wants to relax restrictions on Russian gas in order to alleviate the supply problem, and Kiev is insistent that their attacks on Russian gas have nothing to do with rising diesel prices and lowering supply, because they want to hurt Russia economically while maintaining legitimacy in the eyes of their allies that depend on diesel. The vassal won’t get in line, so the empire pulled material support as a disciplinary measure. Europe does not have something that can serve as a meaningful alternative to this, leaving Ukraine, as always, at the mercy of the US if they wish to continue fighting, rather than reaching a negotiated settlement as more and more countries are desiring (including Ukraine’s working populace). All of this from the US empire’s hubris, thinking it could support both a war on Russia and Iran without consequence.

If you’re strong enough you can disable one of these satellites by throwing a rock, but sadly everybody these days seems to be too puny or weak

  • I expected better from lemmy by now. Why am I the first and only comment to defending feeding billionaires into wood chippers?

Personally I think Starlink is bad because it fucks up the ozone layer, has massive emissions, permanently alters the night sky on behalf of one dude and the benefit is slightly faster internet for some very rare usecases and fascists having more precise bombs. Being mad that Starlink is now not helping some nazi fight a proxy war for the US seems like a silly reason to oppose it, but as long as all roads lead to Rome I cant be too mad about it.

I’ve resolved never to use a star link or buy a Tesla product years ago, and to shit-talk them to whoever asks me about them. It’s not much, but it’s honest work.
