@WeirdWriter@caneandable.social As others have commented in this and other threads, it's helpful that creators (especially YouTube creators) are starting to label stuff as "no AI", or "some audio is auto-generated", or "visuals and/or audio may be auto-generated". I personally do not have a major problem with a video with some auto-gen audio, as to some extent it improves accessibility. If any of the visuals are AI, I'll skip it immediately. The worst though are the music apps like Spotify. Music is important in my life, and I despise any attempt to 'create' music using AI, and there is So. Much. Of. It. Awful.

@bytebro@mastodonapp.uk @WeirdWriter@caneandable.social Labeling is essential. I see a lot of content where there's clearly been some AI used, which isn't a problem for me, but what is a problem is I don't know how much AI was used. For example I really enjoy "six hours of mind blowing theories about the universe to fall asleep to" type youtube videos. I can usually tell instantly when they are using an AI voice, or the writing is AI. That doesn't actually affect my enjoyment of the video; if it gets my brain going down some new direction then it's done its job. What I don't know, and need to know, is whether the content creator has used AI to generate the script, or if he used the Ai as a research assistent. If it's the latter, there's the real possibility that the AI is just inventing theories about the universe--which, again, is fine, but that would make it speculative fiction rather than a science video, which is not what I am looking for. Thanks for coming to my tedX talk
