@ekuber@hachyderm.io It's easy for me to be philosophical about this since it's not my blood, sweat and tears, but here goes: people grousing about how it's good for some application people think reprehensible is nothing if not signposts on the road of Rust's evolution as a successful language. It was inevitable that people will use a successful language in a way others don't like. It's inevitable that people involved with the language will have takes on something others don't like. 1/2

@ekuber@hachyderm.io Rust has strong typing! That's good! LLMs can use strong typing to emit better code. That's bad! I know it isn't much comfort, but this situation is 100% expected to me. And if it wasn't LLMs/AI, it would've been something else. You foster a language along, doing your best for it, but eventually, it takes on a life of its own. You're part of how it got where it is. I'm really grateful for that. I'm sure others are too. Try your best to ignore the noise. 2/2
