Buckmaster has stated that he felt they were about a month away from taking the work they had done on #EulersEquation and generalizing it to #NavierStokes. Then OpenAI came in and ran about $20 million worth of compute with 10k agents working for multiple days along the general path they had heard Buckmaster and co. were pursuing. Buckmaster believes they used his private logs with Codex to inform their approach. On top of that, #OpenAI was shady and intimidating around the whole thing, when confronted by Buckmaster.
