The youth bans and age-verification systems are going in because parents treat every networked screen, mic and trinket as delightful—they get the kids out of the way. This is all about parental neglect coming due, and TPTB never ever mentioning parental responsibility makes it all the more conspicuous, IMO, because they don't want anything to ruin the emergence of total surveillance culture.
