  @jimniels@mastodon.social Years ago I was driving on I-40 just outside Williams, Arizona after a snowfall of several inches. We were heading towards Kingman and the forest was changing to the high desert and Utah Junipers. There was snow everywhere save under the Junipers. There, the ground was still visible and each juniper looked as if the sun was shining directly overhead and casting a shadow. I commented to my friend that the snowless area was what was important. I was onto something. Still wondering :)
