This is Nettie. A chippie from the backyard. She got caught up in some bird netting from somewhere. It was around her neck and her right front paw. We were able to lure her into a "custom" designed Tupperware trap, with peanuts. The mesh bag around the box is because she is very fast. Faster than a speeding bullet, etc. We took her to Hobbitstee, a wildlife sanctuary and rehab in Haldimand near us. They gave her a whiff of anesthesia to cut the netting and to examine her and will keep her over the winter to rehab. The netting had dug into her neck and paw. She will be released in the spring within a km of where she was caught. We called her Nettie; Chantal from Hobbitstee confirmed her pronouns. 😄 #animals #wildlife #chipmunk #HamOnt
