The Tamagotchi Uni sometimes has seasonal events where you play a minigame to score points for your team. I didn’t get into any of the previous ones this winter, because they played seasonal Christian hegemony music, and I found it too irritating to continue. This time, it is a cherry blossom themed game: you use the internal gyroscope to move crosshairs around to shoot– uh, to “launch music notes” into the mouths of smiling faces on a cherry tree. You shake the device to reload– I mean, “regenerate music notes”. On the one hand: kinda gross, right? On the other hand: it is nice to be able to reskin violent gameplay to something tame. On the third hand: I shamefully admit that it is way more fun than the other implementations of the gyroscope so far 😗
