@h4ckernews@mastodon.social I went to look for, but couldn't find, a graph or table of download stats for previous releases, to see if this download number sits right on the expected curve (in which case maybe the "no AI" thing wasn't such a big deal for users) or if it was an outlier (in which case there is at least correlation and we could further investigate the cause).

@h4ckernews@mastodon.social Enjoying Libre Office. Not as easy to use as MSoft but much more control when you learn how. Despite some non-intuitive unautomated features that can be a bit frustrating, I would never go back. Even did my bit and donated to Libre Office.

Paradoxically LibreOffice is apparently downloaded and installed automatically when people use OpenAI Codex^WChatGPT. Which cause is related to the effect...?

@h4ckernews@mastodon.social Correlation is not causation. Also, there will be AI plugins if we want them, at some point. I use AI for a range of useful specific purposes but have never looked for one in LO.

Calling each new high "record-breaking" is a bit meaningless." Hey Einstein, isn't that exactly the definition of "record-breaking"? Reaching a new all-time peak/high? This people can't cope anymore with the fact that people hates AI.
