@ascentale@sfba.social @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org @bikenite@fedigroups.social A6. I have a wet chain. If I have been out riding in the rain and get home feeling okay, I have a few raggy towels right where the bike gets parked, and I do a fairly casual wipe down of the chain, rings. It rains a lot here. So semi-regularly I do a chain clean and lube, usually based on how much crud is stuck on the bike other than the chain. The gravel, when even slightly wet, is usually instant must-clean-and-lube.

@ascentale@sfba.social @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org @bikenite@fedigroups.social A6. For wet rides, I'd dry the chain thoroughly and re-lube it. For muddy rides, I'd run the chain through my cleaning machine first. I was always using a wet lube on my chains, no experience with wax. #BikeTooter #BikeNite

@ascentale@sfba.social @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org @bikenite@fedigroups.social A6: maybe hose it if it's muddy, wipe the worst of the water off, then let it dry before re-lubricating it. Dry lube, always. #BikeNite

@ascentale@sfba.social @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org @bikenite@fedigroups.social I say I will wipe it down and sometimes I do.
