Making people afraid of losing even the most basic things is a deliberate strategy. It erodes solidarity that could otherwise lead to inconvenient questions, or, heaven forbid, even to action. So let's make them fight each other.

White voters(and lighter-skinned nonwhites) started voting for inequality and wealth concentration starting immediately after Civil Rights. This is suicidal racism, not some clever plot by a few.
