@TechTangents@dialup.space Admittedly I may not enjoy it but when so much of the internet is graphical in nature and I'm thus forced to use some form of AI to navigate it, I have to see the good side in things like 'Seeing AI' 'Be My AI' etc, for image descriptions, things that enhance my screen-reader and so on.
Not an apologist, just pragmatic.
I, personally, *cannot* avoid it, not if I want to use the internet in a meaningful way. It isn't great, but what is?
Not Amazon, not Apple, not Google, not Microsoft, nothing is great. Everything sucks, just depends on how much suck you're willing to put up with to get by.

@FreakyFwoof@universeodon.com I imagine that a large amount of current assistive technology will start to rely on AI now because of the massive scale of the data it has. I would be prefer that as a public service instead of a for profit company, but that's not the world we live in. OpenAI purported to be that, but lied. So as non-AI options are replaced or stagnate, you won't have any viable options and I wouldn't blame anyone for using assistive AI tools. It isn't a cut and dry problem, like much of life.
