So, I got this question some days ago and I can only guess: Why is there almost no content on #Mastodon/ in the #Fediverse about the #WorldCup? Yes, I know, that we're supposed to boycott etc. But that's clearly no majority opinion out there. Is there really no interest here? Is it because of something technical? Like no proper live debate because you won't see all posts? Or does (almost) no one post about football here, because of negative replies? What do you think?

@mho@social.heise.de To me Football is a zero interest. In any form - Worldcup or not.

@mho@social.heise.de FWIW following the hash tag has been enough for me to see plenty of interesting comments and dubious takes. #WorldCup

@mho@social.heise.de There's less here than on other platforms, but there's still plenty on the #WorldCup hashtag.

@mho@social.heise.de I've watched some of the games, but it is nothing I'd write on Mastodon about.

@mho@social.heise.de Those who aren't interested, have filtered out most of the relevant hashtags. But you can't say that there are no posts at all: https://rstockm.github.io/mastowall/?hashtags=worldcup&server=https%3A%2F%2Fmastodon.social

@mho@social.heise.de The most I have seen is a few people I follow tooting about a specific match and/or team. Its a bit of a patchwork, not comprehensive coverage.
