Chelsea FC saying "You can have it all, freeze your eggs", it's really brutal.
I'm a parent at an older age. We wanted kids from early on but it just didn't happen until recently.
There's major trade-offs to having kids later. You have a better financial situation for sure, and if you strive for wisdom you can become a wiser parent, but you also still have the same number of years of life.
Someone who has kids at 20 might have their kids reach adulthood when they're 40, reach middle-age when they're 60, and be retired when they're 80.
If you have kids at 40, then they're going to reach adulthood when you're 60, middle age when you're 80.
That's a lot. That 20 years can mean the difference between helping your kid move by moving boxes and helping your kid move by hiring movers. It can mean the difference between watching their kids or not being able to.
You can't have it all. Every choice is a trade-off, you're giving up something. Choose to have kids younger, there's a trade-off. Choose to have kids later, there's a trade-off.
It makes sense then, that these companies would ask you to make the trade-offs that primarily benefit them.

@sj_zero@social.fbxl.net I’m in my mid 40’s and I tell you what, I’m just not up to doing all the activities my kids want me to do. 10 years ago this wouldn’t be a problem.
