Re. the number 4. Years ago I was in Amsterdam visiting friends who lived there. We went out for a beer and the square we were on suddenly cleared out of balding middle aged tourists, and filled with skinheads, everyone wearing boots, people wearing coloured braces, neck tats all over, by all appearances an extremely bad scene until I realised all of them had some kind of variation of the number 4 on their jacket or t-shirt. It was a group of Trotskyist punks making reference to the Fourth International. Profoundly weird.
