Open Source is very specifically not "Free Open Source" and especially not "Free/Libre Open Source" or anything dealing with Freedom or Liberation for anyone but themselves - and the old guard of white male hackerdom has been nothing but stereotypically White & Male about this. The past wasn't that long ago.

Linus has nothing to worry about; he's a millionaire tech celebrity and can retire from his position as "Benevolent Dictator for Life" at any time. And kudos to him for his good fortune at making the #1 operating system for billionaires and anarchists of all stripes alike - nobody likes being told what to do; it's understandable... it would just be nice if the people at the top had as much empathy and compassion as everyone else down here struggling to get by in a world controlled by the fantasies, dreams, and whims of a deluded few who no longer have to engage in our crass reality of precarity. #Luddism #OpenSource
