I think the severity of the bend is minor enough if this was a cheap bike or a mountain bike you would just bend it back, but this is my daily commuter and I don’t want to take my chances with dodgy tensioning #BikeTooter

@cinebox@masto.hackers.town If you don't have access to a wheel truing stand and have never trued a wheel, it will be difficult (but not impossible). Is it a rim brake or disc? https://biketips.com/how-to-true-a-bike-wheel/

@cinebox@masto.hackers.town One of the cooler things I have seen is at the Uni bus loop they have a practice bike rack. It's set up on a wall at the same height and so on, and you can try mounting your bike a few times to see how the thing works. Maybe the bus system where you are at have something similar?

@cinebox@masto.hackers.town There are a few videos showing how to fix a tacoed wheel, and they recover wheels which I thought would have been totally trashed 🤯 I remember one video used a length of 4" x2" timber clamped across the wheel, to a bench, to hold the rim while most of the end was pulled out.

@cinebox@masto.hackers.town Prob not. Any significant bend would result in you breaking the spoke. Only for fine adjustments. There’s a special rim straightener for serious bends.
