@poleguy@mastodon.social There are lots of these units which have been in service for multiple years without fan replacement, so it's not a major concern in my mind. This is especially true if you're using something like a $20 Lasko fan. On the other hand, the upflow path of the fan does a better job of mixing the air in a space, and that's a priority for me, as that will generally do a more consistent job of achieving the primary goal of air cleaning.
