A week after I wrote about my unease around smart glasses, the debate has moved fast. A German digital-rights group has now filed a complaint over Meta’s AI glasses, arguing people can be filmed without noticing (👉 https://www.reuters.com/legal/government/german-advocacy-group-lodges-criminal-complaint-over-meta-ai-glasses-2026-08-12/). A visible recording light tells me recording is happening. It still does not answer whether the people around it consented.
