Saying something is “not ready for prime time” really irritates me, especially when talking about open source software. What the fuck is “prime time” and who decides when something is “ready” for it? Isn't that opinion and a different mark for everyone? To me, when someone says something “isn't ready for prime time,” what they're saying is, “It's not good enough for me, therefore it's shit and no one should use it.” That's how I end up parsing it, which is why it pisses me off to hear.
