@SuperLutheran@poa.st @chud@nicecrew.digital @BowsacNoodle@poa.st @branman65@poa.st I've been thinking about that... Isn't that just plain old predestination with extra steps? Since God created everyone, wouldn't the inclination towards saving faith that He sees in people from eternity past be something He put there?

@King_Noticer@poa.st @SuperLutheran@poa.st @chud@nicecrew.digital @branman65@poa.st Personally I am more impressed with how long people have argued over this and to what extent. Matthew 28:19-20 is pretty clear to me, and the finer details of who is going to accept or reject and whether God knows before or after they’re conceived or if He chooses to not use or at least not share that knowledge with anyone-- none of those things affect Omnipotence or omniscience any more than semantic questions about God creating rocks too heavy for Himself to lift or square circles or whatever. Our human reason does not constrain God’s power.

@King_Noticer@poa.st @chud@nicecrew.digital @BowsacNoodle@poa.st @branman65@poa.st Strictly speaking He put the call to faith in everyone when He wrote the Law in our hearts (Romans 2:15). But He elected those who He foresaw accepting the call of the Gospel and the offer of salvation. Still a bit of mystery there, but our Lord didn't force any of this one anyone
