🐛 If something is eating your plants, you may be doing something right!
Holes in leaves aren't always failure. They can mean your garden is feeding the food web. Caterpillars, birds, fungi and insects all play a role in a living ecosystem.
🌿 Signs of life: • Chewed leaves • Birds hunting • Flowers going to seed • Fungi breaking down fallen material • Insects sheltering in stems
Don’t ask, “Does my garden look perfect?” Ask: “Who is using it?”

@Abelvicent@mastodon.social I love this insight. That's how I see real nature too.

@Abelvicent@mastodon.social nature doesn't care about a perfect look. Or has a different definition of it as humans.

@Abelvicent@mastodon.social Yes, someone once said that you don't walk through the forest and ask "Who chewed all these leaves?!" Gardens need not be neurosis gardens.
